One of the things I love most about telecommuting jobs is the variety. It’s the spice of life, you know. Pun intended in today’s post!
Many people shy away from anything customer service-related when looking for a work-at-home job, but you shouldn’t. Not every position involves angry customers or infomercials. There are a few jobs out there that can be a little fun. Or at least lower stress.
In today’s post, we are talking about some of the telecommuting jobs out there in the food industry. Some of these are order-taking jobs. Some of these are on the delivery side of things. But, all have to do with food in some way or another. Keep an open mind! You may find one or two here you would enjoy.
1. LiveOps
LiveOps is a company that hires at-home agents to cover several prominent companies. For many years, they have had agents taking orders for Pizza Hut.
As you might imagine, this client’s most significant demand comes at night and on the weekends. This can make it a good gig for those with a day job. These calls are pretty easy. You are simply taking orders, offering upsells and helping customers find coupons on occasion.
- LiveOps requires their agents have a landline, wired internet connection, quiet workspace and headset.
- Scheduling is 30-minute blocks.
- Payment is made twice monthly by check or direct deposit.

2. GrubHub
NexRep is recruiting for GrubHub agents as we speak. If you are unfamiliar with GrubHub, this is an online ordering system for tons of local takeout restaurants – 45,000 restaurants in over 1,100 US cities, to be exact.
As a GrubHub rep at NexRep, you will be helping app users in need of assistance. As with most of these at-home food industry positions, nights and weekends are required. NexRep is incredibly upfront about their hourly requirements. NexRep requests a 20 hour minimum for weekly services scheduled between the hours of 12:00 pm – 12:00 am, Friday – Tuesday.
This position pays hourly. Check it out here.
3. UberEATS
We are all familiar with Uber today. But what if you aren’t comfortable carting strangers around in your car? No worries! You can still make money with Uber. You don’t need a car for this opportunity either. UberEATS also contracts those with a bike or scooter.
The UberEATS program does deliveries instead of chauffeur services. As an UberEATS driver, you will be delivering orders instead of taking them.
One thing drivers love is the opportunity for immediate pay. Uber now has Instant Pay which allows you to receive payments up to five times per day and on the same day of delivery. No waiting. This can come in handy if you need immediate cash for an emergency.
As this is a local position instead of a work-at-home job, it is only going to be available in larger cities. But with the popularity of this company, you may find it is available in a city near you. Check out those transportation requirements here.
4. HelloFresh
This is another position outside of the home. HelloFresh is an awesome subscription service that delivers healthy ingredients and recipes for people to make at home. It’s great for busy folks wanting to eat healthier but in need of a little extra help.
HelloFresh is currently looking for brand ambassadors in several large cities like Austin, Dallas, and Denver. As a brand ambassador, you will be attending events in your city and introduce the service to people face-to-face.
Brand ambassadorships are great for outgoing people who love to be out and about during the warmer weather months. It can also be a lot of fun. Check out their careers page for current openings.
5. Cozymeal
Some of the positions on this list are NOT available all the time. This Cozymeal position is one of them. Right now, however, they are looking for a customer service/sales agent and working remotely is cool per their job description.
In this position, you will be matching clients with chefs for events, cooking classes and culinary tours. This is a part-time position. See the job description here.
6. Red Bull
This is a temporary seasonal position with NexRep. It’s pretty low-stress. You are simply taking calls and emails after special Red Bull events helping consumers redeem promotion codes.
They are not hiring at this time. Keep an eye on the job listing for details.
7. Meal Delivery Customer Service
This is another position with NexRep in which you will be fielding calls for a farm-to-table food delivery service. The pay is $10 per service hour with the ability to pick up hours between 11 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday. You are not only going to love that if you don’t want to work nights and weekends, but this is also an email position! Only occasionally will you have to get on the phone.
Check out the job listing here.
I love the variety and uniqueness of this list. Honestly, I think I could handle any one of these as an introvert. Even the phone positions are low stress, and these are calls that go quickly.
