There is such a variety when it comes to legit online jobs. Regardless of your prior work experience or current skillset, there is likely a work-from-home job out there for you. And probably a few you would like to aspire to as well!
Today, I’m providing a shortlist of some of the great opportunities out there. This is by no means an all-inclusive list, but it will give you a nice overview and starting point to help you find a remote job.
Appen
Appen is a data collection company that hires at-home workers to perform online tasks to make online services “smarter”. Tasks at Appen are varied and include evaluating search engines and social media. The work is flexible and can be done from anywhere in the world with a computer and the internet!
BELAY
BELAY places virtual assistants, web specialists and bookkeepers with clients that want to work with them. The work is 100% remote and offers full-time and part-time jobs. BELAY offers training to all employees and mentoring throughout your career. A bachelor’s degree is not required but highly preferred. Applicants must be US based and have a quiet home office with computer, internet, phone and a headset.
Concentrix
Concentrix hires call representatives to work from home as employees, not independent contractors. They hire both part-time and full-time employees, a set schedule is agreed upon once employees are hired. Wages start at $10 per hour and payment is made twice a month via direct deposit into your bank.
Employees will need a computer, high-speed internet and corded headset.
Dotdash
Dotdash is a large and fast-growing publisher offering writing jobs to creative employees. Dotdash occasionally hired freelance writers to work from home. Writers must have strong research skills, the ability to write about a variety of topics and the ability to meet deadlines. Applicants with 1-3 years of experience developing and curating digital content are preferred. Typically in this position, you will work 20-30 hours weekly with a flexible schedule.
Enterprise
Enterprise offers remote jobs for US citizens as call center employees. Reservation sales representatives help book reservations and provide excellent customer support. Employees must be able to professionally multitask and creatively problem solve. Technical requirements for this job include a PC computer (No Macs), a USB headset and high-speed internet. Pay starts at $13 an hour with monthly bonus opportunities.
Fonemed
Fonemed hires professional register nurses from the USA and Canada to work remotely. Work-from-home nurses offer health advice to callers. Requirements for this job include a computer with high-speed internet and a quiet working space as well as a landline phone. Fonemed prefers applicants who have at least 3 years of clinical experience. Remote nurses are compensated on a per-call basis.
Github
GitHub is an open-source code hosting website and a social media site for a programmer and is currently hiring for a wide variety of remote work. If you are an experienced writer, Github is currently hiring a copywriter to develop copy for a wide range of brand and marketing needs. If you love working and interacting with people, Github is also hiring technical support engineers to assist clients. Pay is competitive and varies per job. Depending on the position, Github may give you benefits such as new computer equipment.
Hilton
Hilton has work-from-home job opportunities as a reservation and customer care specialist. Employees will assist customers over the phone with their reservations and other needs. Base pay for this position is $11.00 per hour with opportunities for bonuses. Employees must have a computer with high speed wired internet (WiFi is not permitted) and a quiet home office.
Intuit
Intuit is hiring experienced CPAs as work from home tax advisors. Employees will help customers who need assistance filing their taxes using TurboTax via phone, live chat and email. Applicants must be certified accountants and have at least 5 years of experience in preparing tax returns.
jetBlue
JetBlue hires work-from-home reservation agents, with excellent customer care and problem-solving skills. Once hired, employees must be able to be trained in Salt Lake City, but then work can be brought back to a home office. Applicants must have two years of experience in customer service, a flexible working schedule including nights and weekends, a landline phone and high-speed internet.
K12
K12 is hiring passionate teachers in the US to work from home. A variety of teaching and educational support jobs are offered. Applicants must have a teaching certificate for the state they are applying in as well as 3 or more years of teaching experience. Teachers must have a quiet home office with an educational set up. Medical benefits and 401(k) are included with this position.
Lionbridge
Lionbridge hires part-time, work-from-home job opportunities that allow you to work from anywhere! The work is varied and flexible. Payment can be task-based or per hour, and wages are paid by direct deposit to your bank. Projects and wages vary for each country. You must provide your own computer and high-speed internet.
Measurement, Inc.
Measurement Inc. seeks remote test evaluators based in the US. In this position, you will score different types of tests and projects. Applicants must have a college degree and personal computer, scoring tests on a public computer is prohibited. This position offers flexible works hours, but most projects can be done Monday-Friday. As a work from home test evaluator, you can expect to earn around $11 per hour.
Neiman Marcus
Neiman Marcus is hiring at home workers for customer service positions. In this position, you would be taking both web and catalog orders for customers using phone, email and live chat. Employees must have a computer, high-speed internet and a landline phone.
OnPoint@Home
OnPoint@Home currently offers opportunities to work from home as a call agent and writer. Employees do outbound calling regarding political issues, healthcare and other topics. Writing skills are necessary for this job because, in addition to calling, employees will be writing letters. This position offers flexible hours but asks for a commitment of 25 hours per week when you are on a project. Pay is hourly and payment is issued every week. The work isn’t always steady, but most projects take 2-12 weeks in length.
A Place for Mom
A Place for Mom seeks at home workers to fill Senior Living Advisor roles! Responsibilities in this position include answering phone calls and emails and handling any concerns from partners. This is a full-time position so you must be available to work 40 hours per week. Applicants for this position must have an enthusiasm for customer care, a home office space and the ability to meet deadlines.
Quicktate
The Quicktate/iDictate opportunities involve transcription of a wide variety of audio files. Because the work ranges from voicemail messages to legal and medical files, integrity and professionalism are of the utmost importance. This company is looking for experienced transcriptionists with a clean background – no felony or misdemeanor convictions.
Rev.com
Rev.com is open to aspiring transcriptionists without experience. Because of their openness to those with beginner status, pay is on the lower end of the scale. It is a flexible gig, however, that can give you some experience to put on your resume to help you move into higher-paying positions.
SYKES
SYKES hires remote call center reps from many US states and Canadian provinces. You will need a windows based computer, high-speed internet and USB headset for this position.
Toptal
Toptal is a growing tech startup that hires for a variety of positions, including non-tech jobs. The work is completely remote and you can take your work anywhere in the world. A quiet office space, computer, wireless internet and headset are necessary for this position. Pay varies per job.
U-Haul
U-Haul employs full-time remote workers as customer service representatives. In this position, you will answer questions and schedule reservations from customers. Your equipment must be minimum specifications. Previous call center experience is preferred. Depending on the position, you may be eligible for 401(k), medical reimbursement indemnity plan and more.
VIPKID
VIPKID helps children in China become more fluent in English. To accomplish this, they hire online tutors here in the U.S. To qualify, you will need a bachelor’s degree in any subject. Many of my readers enjoy working with this company as they offer a flexible schedule, early morning hours and pretty good pay.
Worldwide101
Worldwide101 hires virtual assistants. As a skilled virtual professional with this company, you are eligible to receive paid parental leave and paid holidays. While they offer a flexible schedule, you do need to be able to work during traditional business hours. They are specifically looking for those with 7+ years of professional corporate experience.
Xerox
Xerox hires work from home employees for a wide variety of jobs. Positions include customer care, tech support, data entry and more. Working for Xerox at home allows employees to have a more flexible schedule and a better work-life balance. Pay rates vary for different positions.
Yardi Matrix
Yardi Matrix employees temporary at-home employees. Unlike most at-home phone-based positions, Yardi Matrix does not require a quiet working space! In this position, you will call various rental properties to gather information so Yardi Matrix can ensure their information is accurate. The work is temporary and seasonal but during work time they expect you to work 10 hours per week. Employees must have high-speed internet and access and a phone line.
Zirtual
Zirtual is currently hiring remote virtual assistants to perform tasks for different clients. As a Zirtual contractor, your main tasks will be assisting with scheduling, research and reservations. Applicants should have a college degree and prior administrative experience is preferred. The work is flexible and can be done completely from home. You will need a computer, high-speed internet, strong organizational skills and familiarity with computer programs such as Excel.
