You’ll be hard-pressed to find a person who doesn’t love, or at least shop regularly at, Amazon. The site currently has over 200 million products available for purchase. The wide variety of categories allows customers to pick up almost everything they need from groceries to designer handbags in one shopping trip to save time and shipping costs.
Like so many people, I consider Amazon store credit as good as cash in most cases. The Amazon gift cards I earn from completing surveys and shopping apps like Ibotta mean I don’t have to dip into my bank account when it comes time to replenish my reading stock or buy Christmas gifts.
Even better, in addition to earning gift cards outside of Amazon, you can also earn a hefty bonus for encouraging your friends to shop at Amazon. And you don’t even have to have your own website!
Earn $5 for Referring Your Friends to Amazon Prime
Even though I’m a blogger and can earn money through a merchant’s affiliate program, if it’s somewhere I regularly shop I often use my personal referral link instead. Why? Because many merchants not only allow you to earn money from referring friends, but you can also give your referrals a little cash to spend as well.
When you refer your friends to Amazon Prime, you will receive a $5 credit towards your next purchase and your friend will receive $5 to spend as well. Fabulous! They are going to get $5 to spend and a 30-day free trial. Why wouldn’t they sign up?
Make sure when you are recommending the service to include your favorite features and the big selling points; free 2-day shipping, free photo storage, Prime Music & Prime Video and early access to sales. That comes in handy during the holidays.
Earn $5 for Referring Your Friends to Amazon Prime Student
Prime Student is a streamlined version of the popular Prime service created strictly for college students. It also comes with a cheaper price tag. But, that doesn’t mean they skimp on your bounty. You are still going to earn $5 and your friend will get $5 to spend. If you act quickly, there may even be a little extra on the top for you. 😉
Get a $5 off $10 Purchase Coupon for Referring People to Amazon Shopping App
I use the Amazon Shopping App a lot these days. They will give you and your referral a $5 off coupon when purchasing through the app for the first time.
Download the app. (If asked for a referral code you can use ASN6991N to receive your $5 coupon.) Hit the Your Account button at the top. Under Personalized Content you will find Invite Friends. You can then invite from your contacts or share your code.
I recommend keeping an eye on your Amazon apps and special accounts; Prime, Student, Subscribe & Save, Audible, etc. Even if they don’t offer ongoing referral bounties, they do pop up on occasion. And sometimes they bump up the credit from the usual $5.
Amazon caps their referral credits at $1,000 per year. But, I’ll take $1,000 in free Amazon orders any day. Wouldn’t you?
More Amazon Money Opportunities
If you can’t get enough Amazon credit, like me, here are a few other ways to rack up some free stuff.
Ibotta – This is my favorite grocery shopping app. They pay cash back when you purchase specific items. Just scan your receipt when you get home and the money is deposited into your account within a few hours. You can then cash out with PayPal or for gift cards.
Best of all, you can earn $10 for every two friends you refer to Ibotta. Refer four friends and you have enough for a $20 Amazon gift card. Those arrive by email within a few minutes of making the request.
Ebates – I love Ebates. Not only do you earn cash back for making online purchases, they also have a great refer-a-friend program. It’s usually $5 per person plus bonuses when you refer 2, 10, 25 friends.
Until you hit a certain threshold, Ebates usually asks if you want to receive your quarterly payment by check or Amazon credit. You’ll also receive a free $10 gift card when you sign up and make a qualifying online purchase.
Swagbucks – This is another no-brainer. It’s free to signup and you’ll earn Swagbucks, or SB, you can redeem for cash or gift cards to sites like Amazon.
As you can see, you have many opportunities to get some of your necessary or not so necessary purchases for free. What’s holding you back from making money referring your friends to Amazon?
P.S. That’s not the only thing this great site has to offer. Learn how to sell stuff on Amazon full-time. Or maybe get a real job with the company — and keep working at home!
