I have a shameful secret. I’m a leaderboard addict. Maybe it’s my competitive side getting the best of me. Maybe I just don’t have enough excitement in my day-to-day work life. Scratch that. That’s certainly not the case. It’s definitely competitiveness. Anyway, when I see “leaderboard contest” for my favorite launches, I break out the coffee and whiteboard for a serious strategy session. Game on!
A good leaderboard contest can pay in spades. I’ve received cash bonuses, gift cards, exercise equipment, a Fitbit and beyond. A recent affiliate contest netted me over $6,000 in cash and prize bonuses. That DOES NOT include the over $13,000 in commissions I earned. $19,000+ isn’t too bad for an 8-day open cart sale, if I do say so myself. And that’s for something I promoted as an affiliate. It wasn’t even my own product. And let’s not forget that is just from one thing I promote. My blog earned it’s usual regular passive income right alongside this promotion.
