I am still working at creating a consistent routine. My family obligations often cut into work time, but I am trying to be better about structured time daily. It really is a game changer.

I have to say I’m a little bit jealous of your streamlined work schedule. Mine is similar except add in get a toddler ready for school, preschool drop off at 9 and pick up at 12, volunteer at my daughters’ school for lunch duty 12:15-1:15, then do carpool at 3. I do a lot of work in the car needless to say (listening to podcasts, taking phone calls). Then I stay up late after the kids are in bed to take care of emails from the day. Most days I work 8:30 pm to 1:30 am as my main work hours and then here and there throughout the day.

This was a really wonderful read. I’ve been very curious how anyone in the online business world has the ability to keep on track and still have time for personal things. I had to laugh at the phone tip – because I give out my cell number everywhere, but only 3 people have our landline number! Same reasons as you had, but I prefer to route everything through my (silent) cell phone, instead of the house! I still use my landline for all calls, though. Great tips you’ve shared here.

Angie,

Thanks for letting us in on how you run your business. I’ll have to check out Sprout Social since social media is a big time suck.

I have twin toddlers so I do most of my work when they are sleeping. So, I’m most productive at night. For me, I do email and social in the morning, work when the twins are napping/sleeping and then check email/social once or twin after dinner.
I have automation set up for Pinterest and Twitter so I mainly hop on to Facebook to check my private group.

Overall, it’s working for me, but I feel I’ll have to outsource some tasks soon!
