I’ve got a great work-from-home opportunity for you today, straight from NexRep! If you’re a natural salesperson – or if you’re simply persuasive and energetic – don’t miss out on considering this opportunity. I’ve got all the details for you below, from pay rates – you could make between $20-$25 hourly – to each step of the application process. I’ve got testimonials from current agents, too. Read on for the breakdown.
The TLDR Version: Our sponsor, NexRep, has let me know they have a large number of remote call center positions available. This position does not involve any cold calls – the people who call in to speak with you have seen an ad for the product and are calling in to make a purchase. Your job is to help them make purchasing decisions and the amount of sales you produce directly impacts what you get paid.
No landline is needed as calls are routed through your computer. You can set your own schedule. With this agent position, you’ll have tremendous earning potential with an average of $13-$20 an hour and a high of more than $25 an hour. What you earn is directly correlated to how much you hustle.

The Position: NexRep Inbound Sales Representative
NexRep needs inbound sales representatives to provide upbeat and top-notch customer service for their clients’ customers, bent towards making sales and meeting goals. One of the best parts of this sales position is that it does not involve any cold sales calls – the people who call in to speak with you have already been primed before you even take their call.
Your customers are primed through direct mail and newspaper ads for various products. They initiate the call to NexRep’s clients and reach you – they already know the price of the product and are generally calling in to make a purchase. As you take their order, you’ll use their interest and commitment to up-sell them or interest them in third party offers, as appropriate. The better salesperson you are, the more money you can expect to make.
To give you an idea of what type of products you may be taking orders for, NexRep mentions “nutritional supplements and other similar products.”
As with other positions at NexRep, you would be an independent contractor and not an employee. This means that you get to set your own hours, work from your own home office, and develop your customer service and sales business in the way that you like. NexRep emphasizes that they provide you with the tools to improve your business and connect you with clients to maximize your earning potential. You’ll be responsible for handling your own taxes. (I highly recommend Quickbooks Self-Employed for tracking your income and expenses and estimating your tax liability.)
Requirements for NexRep Independent Contractors
In order to qualify as an independent contractor with NexRep, you must live within the United States and have the legal right to work here. You’ll also need to have a quiet home office where you can work, a cell phone (or landline) for initial certification though once hired calls are received through your computer so no landline is required for this job, and you must be able to pass a background check. That’s a national criminal background check – they’ll direct you to the company who’ll perform this background check for you, and they’ve negotiated to set the cost at $25.00.
Beyond those logistical requirements, you also need the personal requirements that match the position you’re applying for with NexRep. As a salesperson, you should be friendly and able to build rapport with callers. You must be goal-oriented, self-driven, and committed to making the sale. You should also be persuasive. They also recommend you be motivated by making money!
Equipment-wise, you can work with NexRep using either a Windows-based personal computer or a MAC – with wired high-speed Internet access (minimum 250 kbps). Make sure your computer can read Microsoft Word and Excel files, along with PDFs. Your computer should have at least 1GB of RAM, and be running Windows Vista (or better) or MAC OS X Lion (version 10.7) or better. Make sure you have a printer at home, and you’ll need a USB noise-canceling wired headset for calls.
NexRep’s Application Process
In order to apply, head over to this dedicated landing page. The form to the right will invite you to enter your name and email address – once you do so, you’ll have the chance to create a password for your NexRep application profile. Once you’re past that screen, you’ll be in the application process. Fill out each section, covering your personal information, preferences, experience, and more. Be thorough here! This is your only opportunity to present information to NexRep in order to be considered – they won’t follow up with you to ask for a resume.
If your application demonstrates that you have what NexRep’s looking for, you’ll be invited to set up an appointment for a phone assessment. During this step, a NexRep Sourcing Specialist will talk with about your fit for the Inbound Sales position and decide whether your voice quality matches their standards. If they like what they hear – and you like what they’re telling you about the opportunity – you’ll be offered a contract and given instructions on how to sign up for their next certification class. (This is also the point where you’d have to pay for that background check. They’ll tell you how.)
After that, they’ll set you up in the NexRep system, email you all the info you need, and get your account set up. You’ll complete the certification you signed up for with a small class, and learn about the brands and products you’ll be selling. They’ll also show you how to use the NexRep system. Then it’s on to the job – and your first call!
What schedule can you expect?
As an independent contractor, you’re free to set your own schedule – whatever works best for you and your life. However, there are some schedules that are more likely to maximize how much money you can earn through inbound sales with NexRep. For this position, those hours with the highest call volume are Monday through Friday between 9AM to 6PM EST.
What’s the pay rate?
The pay for this inbound sales position with NexRep varies widely and it’s all directly proportional to how many sales you make – they pay on commission and reward higher value sales. (I’m a huge fan of production-based pay.) They say that the average agent earns around $13 per hour, but their most productive agents are earning upwards of $20 per hour. They even suggest the upper edge for hourly earnings is around $25! Basically, the better salesperson you are, the more you can expect to make.
What Are NexRep agents saying about this opportunity?
Thanks to several current NexRep agents sharing their thoughts, I have the following short reviews to share with you.
“NexRep allows me to be present and available when my children get home from school and for all of their activities. The flexibility is unmatched by most. They provide excellent communication and competitive pay with the convenience of not leaving my home,” says stay-at-home mom Teresa Ward.
Karen Datz also appreciates the scheduling flexibility, and how it keeps her in touch with the important things in her life – like her dogs! “I’ve been an agent with NexRep for four years as an independent contractor. I love it here!! I make my own hours – I walk my dogs during my breaks – I’m able to live the carefree life that is so important to me! Every morning I sit down to a new day at NexRep eager to help people from all over.”
Tonya Laurie gets down to the important details: “As an independent contractor at NexRep for over five years, I am able to spend more time with my hubby, kids, grandbabies and my big ole’ pup, Nellie Bear. I love the flexibility of being able to control my schedule and work right from the comfort of my home office! No more driving in the snow or wear and tear on my vehicle, no more need to purchase work attire and I can eat healthier right at home; saving thousands in costs per year. On the DRTV sales campaign, I am easily able to invoice at $20.00+ per hour, on average.”
The positive reviews on Glassdoor match many of the points shared by the NexRep agents above – flexible scheduling, the convenience of working from home, supportive team members and management, and the opportunity to make good money. The main cons from Glassdoor reviewers seem to involve their training – it’s not paid – and the fact that when there are no calls, you’re not making any money. As is the case with many independent contractor positions, they apparently pay by call and sales volume, not per hour.
