A bit of both. I got into romance initially because it was fun and it was something that definitely lends itself to the home party. But I changed for a variety of reasons and moved into candles. This was more because of the ease to sell (which wasn’t quite as easy as I thought). If you can find one or two products that you can be passionate about and really talk up, it helps. Especially when your customers fall in love with them as well. 🙂

My father was in sales/marketing, and he loved it. Said it was the only way to make good money. 😉

You talk about either selling a product you’re passionate about, or one you think you can sell. I’d love to hear which path you chose, Sharon. (Or did you do both?) I guess it’s easier to stand behind a product that does both – is quality and what people want, and something you are excited about!

On one hand, there is nothing more nerve wracking than a cold call. On the other, once I’m in it, I really light up and have a great time with it. (Assuming it’s something I’m pretty excited about)
