December Squidoo Income and Progress

If you are a regular reader of The Work at Home Wife, you likely remember the Squidoo challenge I did during the two months leading up to Christmas. December payments are dropping today. My Squidoo income for December…

$130.61

December was not the sales windfall that I had hoped for, but it was more than November. I only made $65.66 in commissions. The remaining $64.95 was tier earnings. Tiers are not something really within my control, so I can’t depend on that long-term. Commissions are where the money’s at and I did not quite live up to my expectations. I will take the blame for that. I think I got a little too far into what I *thought* I should be doing instead of doing what I know. It happens.

2013 Squidoo Progress

I have not done too much over at Squidoo since the first of the year. It was really discouraging to see a lot of my Lenses go into Work-In-Progress status right after the first of the year. Boo! I also do not want to become too dependent or invest too much time and energy on another’s site. Therefore, I have been focusing the majority of my time on my own blogs.

I have published one Lens per week on average since the first of the year however. Last week, Squidoo announced an IMMINENT challenge for Giant Squids that will run through the end of the year. Each week they announce a new theme and you have 7 days to complete a Lens that relates to the theme. There will be a raffle for prize package worth $5,000 at the end of December from the weekly winners. Though the prizes are not really up my alley (my husband would love the Rock & Roll Fantasy trip, however!), these weekly challenges should keep me motivated and expanding my Squidoo portfolio.

  1. I was fairly happy with the big blue box today, December sales are always the best. The whole tier structure could use some re-doing over there, they’ve never expanded the tiers as the site grows so tier one is still the top 2,000 pages with new pages being added to the site every day it’s a little tough to maintain a tier one lens.

I’m definitely intrigued by the IMMINENT challenge for Giant Squids and the idea of winning a Disney trip will keep me making at least one lens per week all year long.

    • The system is a little frustrating, but it is what it is. I’m excited to see how I can progress over the next year. Next December, no complaints! ;)

  2. Do you really make so much money from Squidoo? I can’t believe it, Can you share some more insights into the number of posts and stuff. I never believed that a free network would allow you to make so much money. Good work Angie. Wish you the best.
