To run a successful online business, it is imperative that you use the right tools for the job. Below are some of my favorite recommendations.
Hostgator – You don’t need to be a web designer to create a website or blog these days. Hostgator makes it simple with their one-click WordPress install. They have a great reputation, good uptime and awesome customer service.
VistaPrint – Now that you have an official name, website and phone, let the world know with business cards and postcards announcing your arrival. VistaPrint is one of the best known and most respected printers online. They almost always have great deals on business supplies available.
QuickBooks Online – You need a way to invoice your clients and track income and expenses for tax purposes. QuickBooks has a package to fit any size business and includes tutorials, making it easy for any accounting novice.
Mozy – It is an absolute must that you backup your desktop files as a home business owner. You never know when you may encounter a virus, a computer meltdown or another unforeseen catastrophe. Don’t risk losing your most important business files. Get Mozy. They give you your first 2 MB free and that may very well be enough if you’re just starting out.
AWeber - You need to start collecting the email addresses of website visitors from Day One. This will allow you to communicate updates, offerings and specials via email. To be CAN-SPAM compliant, you should use a trusted email marketing service like AWeber. You can get started for only $1!
