7 More Ways to Make Money on the Internet Without a Website

This is a great time of year to get a secondary, more passive income coming in to cover additional holiday expenses. Loretta Oliver had a great post on It’s a WAHM Thing last week with five ways to make money online with no website. Her suggestions:

  • Fiverr
  • Outsourcing Sites (Elance, Odesk, etc.)
  • Squidoo and HubPages
  • Etsy or eBay
  • Amazon Kindle Books

These are all great ideas, and I use several of them myself. Her post got me thinking of other avenues you can quickly incorporate into your game plan for a little extra spending cash.

How to Make Money Without a Website

Amazon mTurk – You aren’t going to get rich here, but you may find a few HITS that can be completed during the commercial breaks of your favorite television shows. These earnings can be sent to your bank or used for Amazon purchases.

Coupon Chief – You don’t need your own website to earn from sharing online coupon codes. This site will pay you a percentage of each sale made with your shared codes.

Sell Photos – People with websites need photos. Those of us with blogs need a lot of them. Sites like iStockphoto will pay you royalties for your photo, video and audio contributions.

YouTube – Monetize your videos with AdSense.

Forum Signatures – Most of us are active in at least one online forum. If policy allows, add an affiliate link to your signature. This is a passive way to generate sales without annoying the community.

Sell Your Wares – If you have design skills or are quick with the one-liners, sites like CafePress or Zazzle allow you to easily set up shop and sell your clothing and gift art. They take care of the manufacturing and shipping, you get paid a royalty for each sale.

Source Online Deals – The holidays are coming and your friends may like saving a little money on their gift purchases. Moolala will pay you a flat fee or percentage for each sale you refer. Create a Facebook Page or offer to email select deals to those interested. Don’t spam! Ask permission or create a designated Group that your network can join.

These are all meant to be secondary income sources. They will not replace your primary income (at least not without a lot of work and probably that website you are hoping to avoid at the moment). What residual money-makers would you add?

  1. Great list of options that are available to everyone who isn’t into owning websites themselves. I own several websites but am also very active on Squidoo and since I just don’t like to work with a lot of code Squidoo has been a great option for me. Really increasing the amount of content I put out there.

  2. Thanks for posting great info. I have learned a lot from your site.

  3. I made all my Christmas money on Mturk last year! It is great for making some extra cash.

  4. Adding the affiliate link to forum signatures is a brilliant idea. How about adding it to the signature on emails as well? I have my blog, HubPages and WebAnswers links on mine. Now I will add my Amazon link, per your suggestion.

  5. Most of my earnings are through my websites, and they are not that big. I guess i’ll give your list a try, a extra income small or big is still an income so they say..

Thanks for the share and God Bless

  6. Nice post Angie. Everyone should be thinking of a second income today. I don’t know how people with fixed incomes keep pace with month on month rising costs of living.

  7. Today there is very little excuse for people to make money. Anyone who can access the Internet can make money if he or she applies him or herself. It was only 3 short years ago when my family and me were a stone throw from living in a shelter. Four of us living and sleeping in a room that could just fit a double bed. Today, we are able to pay the bills and see a way to design a life for ourselves.
