I haven’t given an update on my Keyword Academy experience since the end of January, I believe. It’s time for a check-in as I know many of you are still using the program, and some have yet to sign up. So I’ll give a quick Keyword Academy review and update, along with how I’m using the program.
Niche Refinery Tool – This is their keyword tool. You run keywords related to your niche through this nifty little tool, and it returns those with high value and low competition. I do love this tool, and with my repeated use I can sometimes avoid using it all together if I’m in a hurry. I know exactly what I’m looking for and I can sometimes get by with doing a Google search and scanning the first SERP for what I’m targeting and those sites I can tackle without much effort. Thumbs up.
Postrunner - I don’t use their guest posting system. I cut out all of my nameless, faceless niche sites with Panda. They aren’t passion sites. They aren’t worth the added trouble. I’m focusing on those sites that I want a strong community to prop them up. With those communities comes our own guest posting systems. And you are gaining traffic with those, not just a backlink for the search engines. It’s my understanding they are modifying Postrunner in the near future. We shall see what those updates involve. I hope it becomes something that I feel a little “safer” about than I do now. I like knowing where my content is going, I like knowing the people that own those sites, and I like knowing how they market.
Forum - Oh, how I love a forum…too much. I love seeing how others use a system. We all seem to take a method, piece it together with the best practices of other methods and make our own unique systems. But, boy oh boy, can forums be a time killer. I try to stay away. I really do.
Money - Time for the important stuff. In February my blogging income really started climbing and becoming more consistent, finally. Can I give all of the credit to Keyword Academy? Probably not. This blog has been around for a year, and I was building a following long before TKA. However, I am finally earning from ads. This is a first on that front. I do believe that has something to do with my newly added techniques.
Overall, I still give Keyword Academy a thumbs up. I’m earning more money. With my new way of choosing my keywords I am ranking much, much higher straight out of the gate. I’m not doing anything shady. Take it and make it your own. I believe the first thirty days is still only $1.
In other news: Since we are earning consistently and at a higher rate than previously, it’s time to give back. I do consider my blogs little clients, however I am still lucky enough to slot their earnings as “free money”. When you have a little extra, the only right thing to do is spread it around. This morning I donated a portion of my affiliate income to one of my favorite dog rescue groups. I have a few other charity recommendations from my fellow bloggers for future months. That’s how we roll. I hope you do the same.

Great post! I have been a member at TKA since mid-Jan. as well, and have only just been able to really focus on it the past few weeks. However, I have seen some results with both my work at home site that’s been around for 9 months now and from my newly built niche site that I made more or less exactly how they recommend. I’m glad to hear that you’ve found some value in the system, too. The things I’ve learned have really been helpful, and my traffic is increasing

That’s great, Anna! I am seeing measurable results from the program even though I don’t follow it to a T. And it sure cuts down on the time compared to how I was doing things before.
Popped in from SITS! Have you ever heard of Clever Girls? I’d love some advice on them.

I haven’t, Blond Duck. I’ll do a little investigation, and perhaps cover it in a blog post. Thanks for the heads up.
